Information for authors
Thank you for your interest in contributing to the International Conference on Screw Machines 2026, scheduled to take place from 8 to 10 September 2026 at TU Dortmund University. Below, you will find crucial details for authors submitting to the conference, with guidelines for both the Full Paper track and the Presentation Only track.
Abstract submission is now open!
General information
The conference will commence with a lab tour and a social event on the evening of 8 September, offering a unique opportunity for networking. Technical presentations are scheduled for 9 and 10 September.
Registration for ICSM 2026 is now open, and we are eagerly anticipating your presence in Dortmund next autumn!
Conference tracks
Authors submitting to the Full Paper track are invited to present comprehensive, in-depth research contributions related to all kinds of screw machines. Full papers will undergo a rigorous peer-review process, and accepted submissions will be presented during dedicated technical sessions at the conference.
Timeline
- Deadline for abstract submissions: 31 January 2026.
- Notification of abstract acceptance: 13 February 2026.
- Deadline for full paper submission: 31 May 2026.
- Results of the peer-review process: 30 June 2026.
- Deadline for final submission of the revised papers: 31 July 2026.
Publication
- Accepted full papers will be included in the conference proceedings, providing authors with the opportunity for widespread dissemination of their research.
- All costs of open access publication with DOI are included in the conference fees.
Templates
The templates include instructions on how to write your paper for ICSM 2026 and later publication.
If you are using LaTeX we encourage you to use the free online editor Overleaf, as it ensures compilation on any machine. In that case, you can simply copy the template to your account. Additionally, you can provide a view-only link to your Overleaf project instead of your code folder, when submitting your paper. For more information, please refer to the short guides below.

Submission
- Submissions should be made through ConfTool.
- All submissions must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another conference or journal.
For subsequent post-processing, an additional file containing the original project data must be provided alongside the PDF. Depending on your workflow, please provide the following files:
- LaTeX in Overleaf (recommended):
- PDF file of your paper
- TXT file containing the view-only link of your Overleaf project
- LaTeX:
- PDF file of your paper
- ZIP folder containing the complete and compilable LaTeX code folder
- Word:
- PDF file of your paper
- DOCX file of your paper
Authors opting for the Presentation Only track can submit abstracts or extended abstracts outlining the key findings, innovations, or case studies related to screw machines. This track is designed for those who wish to share valuable insights without submitting a full paper.

- Notification of abstract acceptance: 13 March 2026.

Presentations
- All technical presentations are scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, 9 and 10 September 2026.
- The official conference language is English; therefore, all presentations are to be held in English.
- There is no template required. Presentations may be designed freely.
- Presenting authors are expected to attend in person.

- Participants: 675 € (excl. VAT)
